Pakistan Group Trip 2025
I have a fantastic opportunity to share with you!
I am excited to announce that I am hosting a group tour to Pakistan this autumn (15th-27th of October 2025).
This incredible destination is spectacular, underrated and just a little intrepid. The perfect destination to explore together with a qualified team of professionals who I’ll be partnering with.
The trip is a mix of
- Culture (we visit two vibrant cities)
- Nature (we visit glaciers, lakes and mountains)
- Hiking (we do six treks during the two-week itinerary, between 1-4 hours long).

Trip dates
The trip will be held from the 15th-27th of October, 2025.
The idea is that you’ll fly into Lahore on the 15th and out of Islamabad on the 27th of October (however, we can support you in booking accommodation if you choose to arrive earlier or stay longer).

Why to visit Pakistan?
- The world’s highest density of high-altitude peaks… AKA stunning scenery and a hiking dream!
- Delicious cuisine that you may not have tried before
- Warm hospitality – Pakistanis are a friendly bunch, as you’ll find out!
- Rich culture, history and arts – which we’ll get to experience in the cities.
About our partners
I have chosen to partner with Ready for Road for this expedition because of their years of expertise and vast local knowledge. The founders, Will and Imran, have been running trips in Pakistan for over 10 years and know this beautiful country inside out, having dealt with every circumstance, and received many fantastic reviews and loyal customers along the way.
Some reasons I decided to work with them include:
- Bespoke agency – as with my previous group tour in India, I wanted to work with a company that specialises in travel in one specific country
- Sustainability – they actively work with local families and businesses supporting growth in rural communities
- Expert guides – all the guides are locals with a lifetime of Pakistan knowledge and many years experience guiding.
About our itinerary
If you’ve been following a while, you’ll know I’m not one for cramming in so much that you can’t enjoy the moment.
However, this tour is designed so you can experience the best of Pakistan in a 2-week trip (accommodating those travelling on annual leave). As a result, we’ve devised an itinerary that’s jam-packed with the good stuff but not exhaustingly hectic.

Flights
The idea is to fly into Lahore and out of Islamabad to see as much as possible of Pakistan (without extra travel time going back on ourselves).
Plenty of major airlines service this route, for example Turkish Airlines if coming from London. You can expect to pay £500-600 including a quick change in Istanbul.
The flights are the only things you’ll need to pay for, as everything else is included in the trip price. The tour begins on the 15th of October and you’re welcome to arrive that day if time’s tight (before 12pm, please). However, you can also arrive a day or 2 early to acclimatize and we can help you sort accommodation for this. I will be around to hang out and support you!
Daily itinerary
Day 1
Today we will arrive, explore the markets and visit a unique speakeasy bar in the evening to get to know one another.

Day 2
After breakfast, we’ll visit Lahore’s cultural sights like Lahore Fort and the majestic Badshahi Mosque before a real highlight – the Wagah Border Show! I’ve also seen this from the India side and it’s a blast on both, known for its vibrant costumes and energetic performers.

Day 3
We’ll get on the road to the Northern areas, starting to soak up the breathtaking landscape of Pakistan. We pass the town of Naran known for its lakes and mountains. We’ll break up the journey by stopping to eat tasty Pakistani food and shop for handcrafted souvenirs (if you wish).
Day 4
Today we’ll arrive in the enchanting Fairy Meadows region. This lush green area offers the best views of Nanga Parbat, the world’s 9th tallest mountain. Don’t worry, we are not climbing to the top but we will do our first hike of the trip today.
Our day comprises driving to Raikot Bridge (the gateway to Nanga Parbat camp) in the morning where we switch to 4x4s that will take us to our accommodation for a hike followed by dinner and stargazing. This will be one of the few times we don’t stay in hotel/homestays, but cosy wooden cabins with spectacular views.
Day 5
Today we are hiking at the base of the majestic Nanga Parbat mountain soaking in the magical views. We stop for tea in paradise before heading further to the viewpoint.
The hike will be approximately 2 hours long. The views, tea stops and group motivation (and thoughts of dinner!) will keep us going.
Optional – experienced hikers can opt to continue to base camp while the rest have lunch at camp. After sunset over the lake, we settle in for a well-deserved dinner.

Day 6
Next, we do a short hike to board Jeeps, change back to our bus, and ride to the Naltar Valley where we check into our guesthouse for the night. Naltar is known for its rich forests and spectacular lakes.
Day 7
We’ll explore the idyllic Naltar Lakes region by 4x4s and do a short hike (1.5 hours) between the various lakes, soaking in the views and stopping for photos. At the end of the day, we arrive in Karimabad.
Day 8
A day exploring the Karimabad region includes the chance to shop at vibrant bazaars and eat regional northern food. Ater a walk to the Eagles Nest viewpoint overlooking the sweeping Hunza Valley, we settle in for the night with a yak BBQ and moonshine (optional).

Day 9
After a slower start, we head to the beautiful Attabad Lake for a boat ride and lunch. We walk through the Orchard to our cosy homestay for the night.
Day 10
After a memorable morning exploring the Black Glacier, we head to beautiful Borith Lake for lunch. Here we can enjoy a relaxing afternoon, swimming and paddleboarding if we wish.
Then, we walk for 2 hours to Passu Glacier measuring 57 kilometres long (the fourth largest outside of the polar regions. It’s truly a sight to behold, rivalling those in New Zealand and Patagonia!

Day 11
We take our final hike (around 2.5 hours) to the Baskochi viewpoint for spectacular views. After lunch, we visit the photogenic Passu Suspension Bridge with wooden slats and sweeping vistas of the snowy mountains.
Day 12
Our morning flight to Islamabad isn’t just for transport: we’ll fly over some of the country’s most majestic scenery. This sightseeing flight doubles up as a way to relax and save time compared to travelling by road.
We arrive in Islamabad by lunch and have the afternoon to sightsee at the must-see points of Islamabad including Faisal Mosque and the Pakistan Monument (time dependant).
Day 13
We say our farewells as friends and depart Islamabad.

FAQS
Do you need to be physically fit?
As we’ll be doing hiking, you do need a general base level of fitness. But this isn’t a tour aimed at super athletes. Most of our hikes are a few hours at a maximum and we aren’t doing any crazy uphills. As long as you don’t live a mega-sedentary lifestyle, you’ll be fine.
We’ll all support and motivate each other – this is all for enjoyment and not a competition or race!
How long are the hikes?
- Day 4, Fairy Trail – 2.5 hours trekking up and 1.5 hours coming down
- Day 5, Bayal – 1.5 hours to Bayal Camp, 30 minutes to the viewpoint and the same returning (optional trek to basecamp adds another 3.5 hours for the serious trekkers)
- Day 7, Naltar Lakes – 1.5 hour trek
- Day 9, Attabad Lake Orchard – 1-hour trek
- Day 10, Black Glacier – 2-hour trek
- Day 11, Baskochi – 1.5-2 hours up and 45 minutes down.
Is Pakistan safe?
Absolutely. Despite some people’s misconceptions, this is a warm and welcoming country.
In addition, we’ll be travelling in the safest possible way with experienced local guides and staying in accommodations we know to be safe and secure.
What is our accommodation like?
We will mainly be staying in hotels and homestays. Only in Fairy Meadows will we stay in wooden cabins.
We will always have access to running water and showers. Although it won’t be 5* accommation, it will always be clean and comfortable.
What will the weather be like?
Although this can never be predicted 100%, in October we can predict typical autumnal weather for Pakistan which means the cities are still warm (up to 30 degrees Celsius).
In the mountains, it can be cooler depending on the altitude but the days are still warm. At night, the temperatures can drop which is why we recommend bringing extra layers for all eventualities.
How does room sharing work?
If you are travelling with someone else, you will be put in a room with them. If you are alone, you will share with another solo traveller of the same gender. We’ll mix up the room allocations so we all get to know one another during the trip.
Do we need to hike with all our stuff?
No! We have a comfy bus which will transport our things to our next accommodation as we hike. Our guides will help with loading so there’s little work done by you.
We can focus on enjoying our destinations in the daytime with just a small backpack for our daily essentials such as water, snacks, camera etc.
What is the food like?
You’ll get three hearty meals a day on tour. Although the cuisine tends to be typically meaty, we can cater to vegetarian and vegan diets.
What’s the group size?
The maximum group size for this expedition is 16 guests.
Who is the trip suited to?
This trip is suited to those with an open mind, willing to embrace new challenges and opportunities. We won’t be staying in 5-star hotels and hanging out at the hotel pool all day!
We have an excellent driver and well-equipped vehicles but roads in Pakistan can be bumpy so it’s important to be prepared. It’s well worth it to experience this unique and breath-taking country!
All this to say, an open mind and ability to be adaptable will serve you well and help you get the very best out of the experience.
And of course, as the trip includes hiking, it’s ideal that you enjoy the outdoors, or at least are up for trying!

Is there an age limit?
No! Whether you are young or just young at heart (provided you are physically healthy, of course), you’re more than welcome to join us!
On my last group tour to India, the average age was late 20s to late 30s with a 70/30 female/male split, reflecting the demographic of my audience.
What is the maximum group size?
Up to 16 travellers maximum.
Do I need specific gear?
We recommend good quality hiking boots and a jacket but aside from this, you don’t need any special equipment or gear. Just whatever you’d usually wear for hiking and pack for travelling abroad.
In the cities, it’s best to dress modestly but no special type of clothing is required. We can help with a packing list nearer the time.
